My name is Natalie Martinez, and I have the incredible privilege of serving as the Director of Student Ministries here at Morro Bay Presbyterian Church. The Lord was so clear in leading me here, and I am deeply grateful to now be part of this church family and community.

I was born and raised in Orange County, California, but I also spent extended time in the beautiful state of Michoacán, Mexico, visiting my mom’s side of the family. Those years deeply shaped me and gave me a love for people, hospitality, and community that continues to influence who I am today.

Music was one of the first ways the Lord continually pursued my heart. I grew up loving music and eventually attended California State University, Long Beach, where I earned my degree in Music Education. During my freshman year of college, after walking through one of the hardest seasons of my life, the Lord drew me to Himself through the guidance, love, and discipleship of mentors at the church where I was singing and serving. That season completely changed the trajectory of my life and deepened my desire to know and follow Jesus.

After graduating from CSULB, I pursued my teaching credential and began work toward a Master’s in Education, something I had dreamed about since I was young. Yet through a great deal of prayer, discernment, faithful mentors, and honestly a fair amount of stubbornness on my part, the Lord made it clear He was calling me into ministry instead. In Fall 2024, I began pursuing my Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary.

Over the years, I have had the joy of serving in several ministry roles at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Santa Ana, particularly in worship and student & family ministry. I was deeply blessed by the pastors, mentors, students, families, and church community there who helped shape me personally and spiritually. Before coming to Morro Bay Presbyterian, I also had the opportunity to serve in a ministry residency program in Castle Rock, Colorado, where the Lord continued growing my heart for discipleship, community, and students.

Outside of ministry, I love being outdoors. Hiking, backpacking, spending time on the water, playing tennis or pickleball, or simply slowing down with a good book, painting, cooking, or enjoying a really good cup of coffee.

I am incredibly excited to partner with students, families, and this church community in what the Holy Spirit is already doing here on the Central Coast. I have already been so encouraged by the kindness, prayers, and warmth of this church family, and I cannot wait to continue walking alongside students as they grow in knowing and following Jesus.

I would genuinely love the opportunity to get to know you, hear your story, and connect with you. Whether you are a student, parent, volunteer, or simply someone who wants to say hello, please do not hesitate to reach out, I would truly love to meet you.
