My name is Jennifer Thomas, and I have had the privilege of serving at Morro Bay Presbyterian Church as the Children’s Director for the past four years. I truly love it! This church has become my second home, and I feel incredibly grateful to walk alongside an amazing staff and wonderful families.

The best part of my job is getting to know each child individually and watching them grow in their faith and understanding of who God is. It is a joy to help create a space where kids feel known, loved, and excited to learn about Jesus.

I have been married to my husband, Dennis, for 30 years, and together we have three grown children and seven grandchildren who bring so much joy and life into our family.

I have always worked with children in one capacity or another. Over the years, God has opened many doors for me to teach, care for, and invest in kids of all ages. I have taught college classes at Allan Hancock College, substituted in classrooms, worked in early intervention speech with children ages 0–3, owned and operated a daycare, supported Young Life (including teen moms and babies), and directed an infant-toddler center for teen mothers. Each of these experiences has shaped my heart for children and families.

Outside of work, I find joy in being outdoors—walking, camping, and spending time at the lake with my family. I love God’s creation and the time it gives me to slow down and enjoy life.

It is a privilege to serve this church and community, and I would love for every child who walks into our ministry to experience a place where they are welcomed, known, and excited to come back each week.
